Pinot Pedal 2008 was a collaboration between Umbrella and Urban Wine Works to raise awareness for a plan to relocate the Sauvie Island highway bridge to NW Flanders St over the I-405 freeway for pedestrian and bicycle use. The existing span was being replaced and a window of opportunity existed to re-purpose the bridge.  The Pinot Pedal was a supported bicycle ride through the neighborhoods of NW and NE Portland, which would have been the primary beneficiaries of a NW bike/ped crossing.
